Terms of play

The Standoff is a free browser game run by Tidekeeper, an independent game made by an individual in the United Kingdom ("we"). By playing, you agree to these terms.

It's free

There is nothing to buy. Playing costs nothing and needs no account.

Points are not money

Grudges and shells are game points. They have no cash value. They can't be bought, sold, traded or transferred, and they can't be exchanged for money or anything outside the game. We may change how points are earned or spent, or reset them, for example to fix a bug or remove cheating.

Play fair

One player per person. Don't use scripts, bots, modified clients, copied runs or multiple accounts. Every run is replayed on our server; runs that don't check out score zero, and accounts that cheat may be removed from leaderboards.

The game

We provide the game as it is and may change it, pause it or end it. We aren't liable for lost progress, for example if you clear your browser data.

Age and law

You must be 13 or older to play. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute, though you keep any protections the law of the country you live in gives you.
